Pree lives in Hilton but has been closely associated with St Ives where she and her husband had two shops from 1951 to 1980. After her husband's untimely death she embarked on a hectic career in local politics when elected to Huntingdonshire District Council for the St Ives South in 1983. Pree was Planning chairman for six years and chairman of the Council from 1998 to 2000. She also served on the Town Council for 8 years and was Mayor 1991-92. Her other voluntary work includes the Huntingdonshire Regional College where she has been chairman of the governing board for 17 years. She has also been a trustee of RELATE (a marriage guidance service) since 1983. When council duties allow, Pree enjoys playing bridge. She has 2 sons and 5 grandchildren.
