Martin (front) and Tim set off in September in their single-engine Robinson R44 helicopter in a record-breaking bid to fly to Adelaide and raise money for the international charity, SOS Children's Villages which was celebrating its 50th anniversary. They took off from Marshall Aerospace at Cambridge Airport and completed the trip, with many adventures and anxious moments en route, in just under 6 weeks. They were the first pilots ever to fly a single engine piston-driven helicopter from England to Australia. Martin and Tim co-own Speed Couriers, based in St Ives.
