John is leader of the St Ives Art Group and has been painting seriously for 25 years, specialising in local scenes and the Suffolk coastline where he grew up. He is often commissioned to paint portraits of children for friends and relatives. He was a full-time teacher until 1992 and still teaches part-time. His other leisure activities are bird-watching and photography.
