The business, started in 1964 in Warboys, is owned by the De'ath family and now employs over 70 people on 3 sites in Cambridgeshire including St Ives. With the recent addition of a commercial workshop anything from helicopters to combine harvesters can now be repaired or painted. Gladwins have invested in state-of-the-art technology and are equipped with laser alignment, ultra-sound analysis and four low-bake paint ovens. Owner and managing director Harvey De'ath's other passion is his racing Mini in which he successfully competes in Historic races in this country and Europe. The 40 year-old car develops 152bhp and has a top speed of 132mph. Harvey is entering it in the Fastest Mini in the World race at Silverstone later this year.
