Tonya McQuillan releases European Barn Owls into a new aviary. Most of these birds arrived at the Foundation as unwanted pets, not as injured wild birds. Tonya is the daughter of Liz and Stewart McQuillan who started the Foundation in 1989 to look after injured Tawny Owls in their back garden. The Centre now cares for 350 birds of prey and boasts the finest hospital for injured raptors in Europe. It is entirely funded by public donations and run by a dedicated team of volunteers
