Michael Gray bought the Butchers Shop in Crown Street in 1984, and it is now one of the few independent butchers in the area. He not only runs the shop but has contracts with the hotel and pub trade within a 10-mile radius. Michael and his staff retain the old tradition of wearing straw boaters and striped aprons, once the hallmark of the trade.
